CARS is committed to providing a safe, positive, and inclusive environment where every athlete can thrive. As a community aligned with the standards of SafeSport, USARS, American Roller Skating Association (ARS), and World Skate, we expect all athletes to uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship, respect, and integrity.
🌟 Core Principles
As a CARS athlete, I will:
- Put safety, respect, and well-being above competitive outcomes
- Represent the sport with professionalism and positive sportsmanship
- Support teammates and competitors with encouragement and fairness
- Demonstrate a growth mindset and take responsibility for my development
🛡 SafeSport-Aligned Behavior Expectations
I will:
- ✔Respect physical and emotional boundaries
- ✔Use language that is encouraging — not harmful
- ✔Follow appropriate digital communication standards
- ✔Report concerns to a trusted adult, coach, or SafeSport contact
- ✔Skate free from bullying, harassment, discrimination, or intimidation
I will never engage in conduct that threatens the health, safety, or dignity of others.
🤝 Respect for Coaches, Officials & Volunteers
I will:
- Follow coaching instruction with a cooperative attitude
- Treat judges and officials with respect — even when results disappoint
- Express concerns through the appropriate channels
- Recognize the dedication of volunteers who support the sport
🏆 Commitment to Fair Play
I will:
- Compete honestly
- Avoid any form of cheating or intentional rule-breaking
- Respect facility policies and training environments
- Maintain appropriate conduct during travel, events, and social activities
My actions reflect not just myself — but my community and sport.
💬 Online Conduct & Social Responsibility
I will:
- Represent CARS positively in social spaces
- Communicate respectfully — no insults, gossip, or harmful commentary
- Avoid sharing personal or private content without consent
- Speak up if I see cyberbullying or unsafe behavior
Digital behavior counts toward my overall sportsmanship.
🎯 Personal Commitment to Growth
I will:
- Practice consistent healthy habits on and off skates
- Accept corrections with a positive attitude
- Celebrate progress — mine and others'
- Help create a welcoming community for every skater
🚨 Reporting & Accountability
If something feels unsafe, inappropriate, or concerning — I will tell someone.
